Discovery Calls

Wherever you live, a Discovery Call might be just what you need if:

  • you don't know where to turn

  • you'd like a no-obligation conversation about you or your child's needs

  • you're not sure whether dyslexia or something else might explain some challenges, such as a language disorder, ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, visual disturbances.....

  • you'd like to speak to a very approachable assessor with almost 25 years' experience who's brought a holistic approach to her work for many years and been thanked by clients, schools, etc. for her willingness to signpost/refer those she sees

How long is a Discovery Call and what does it involve?

A Discovery Call is up to 30 minutes and it'll involve:

  • discussing the main indicators/symptoms of specific learning difficulties/neurodiverse conditions that have been spotted

  • allowing time for Sarah to clarify her understanding so she can feedback which specific learning difficulties/neurodiverse conditions might be at play

  • if then wishing to book a 2 hour assessment with Sarah, an email that will have a

    link to her online booking system (£25 will then be deducted from the cost of the 2 hour assessment if you book this within 6 months)

  • if an assessment with a different type of professional is advised, a brief email with a factsheet about the symptoms of potential specific learning difficulty or neurodiverse condition, alternative reasons for the symptoms, advice about who can diagnose, personal recommendations of other professionals if you wish to pursue a private assessment but also information whether there're other diagnostic routes, such as via the NHS, etc.

The Discovery Call does not involve completing questionnaires/screening forms as it's 'just' a conversation - but a very focused one. A report will not be written afterwards but you're welcome to take notes during the Zoom call and you'll receive an email afterwards as outlined above.

How much is the Discovery Call and how do I book?

The cost is £40 and this is paid by credit/debit card when you book. Please contact Sarah if you don't have a card and need an alternative way of booking. A discount of £25 from the cost of a full diagnostic assessment (age 8+) or comprehensive needs assessment (age 6-7) is then offered if you pursue this with Sarah within 6 months.
